Job Summary
Our Birmingham office is currently seeking a full time Associate Director Development Planning with the following requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Midlands based development planning team and liaise closely with teams in other offices.
  • Liaise closely with the infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Take a lead role and assist in business development activities to maximise work from existing clients within and outside our organization and win work from new private sector companies and developers.
  • Prepare fee proposals including resources and programme.
  • Prepare designs for transport schemes to support development masterplans.
  • Manage the preparation of technical and client reports, bringing together the contributions from other specialist areas of the business.
  • Attend project and Client meetings on behalf of our business.
  • Deliver projects within timescale, budget constraints and quality expectations.
  • Communicate project’s critical issues in a timely manner to Directors and Clients.
  • Act as the Project Manager or Director on projects, as necessary.
  • Delegate tasks to junior staff to ensure effective delivery

Minimum Requirements
  • Extensive experience in private sector development planning, delivering and managing residential, retail and mixed use schemes.
  • Extensive knowledge in the preparation of transport assessments, travel plans, access strategies.
  • Working knowledge of relevant transportation modelling programs ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig, TRANSYT, VISSIM, and TRICS.
  • Ability to prepare commercially robust fee proposals.
  • Experienced in project and team management.
  • Significant business development experience and winning new work, preferably in the Midlands


Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil &/or Transportation Engineering or equivalent. Membership of a relevant professional body.
